Note from Bitches: I’m very excited to present the first guest post on Bitches’ Meows. You’re probably already following them on Instagram and Twitter, or maybe you even read about them on People.com. Without further ado, I hand the blog over to my furiends and fellow beer cats, Cats on Tap. Here are Rosie the Russian and Milly the Masher’s lessons for beer kittens who want to grow up to be beer cats.
It all started on a cold, blusterous Minnesotan winter night. We had just poured Nebraska Brewing Company’s Romancing The Cone IPA when Rosie jumped on top of the bar stool. Her nose twitched as her curiosity lead her to the fresh pint glass of hop-bomb bitterness. Our watershed moment was when Rosie photobombed our Untappd check-in. That night, #BeerCat Rosie was born.
A year later, we rescued Milly, a small calico kitten, who now mugs our tasty offerings and the camera as much as Rosie.
The @lagunitasbeer Imperial Red Ale is what all other red ales want to be: the embodiment of perfection in a glass. From the initial aroma of sweet toasty malts to just enough hops for a not too bitter brew, this beer is the standard that all others should drive to be. #beercat Rosie and Milly approved. #craftbeer #catsofinstagram #CAbeer #beerporn #beergeek A photo posted by Beer Cats (@catsontap) on
As the veteran BeerCats, Rosie and Milly would now like to impart their experience and wisdom. Here are ten simple rules to a #beercat life:
1.) Start training early on the good stuff (i.e. craft beer)…
2.) BUT, be of legal age and big enough to handle the beer.
3.) Stop, smell, and appreciate the aromas.
4.) Yes, beer koozies are still required.
5.) Cheers to working cats everywhere (#PubCat and #Brewerycat).
6.) Don’t throw those boxes away, cause #BeerFortFriday is coming.
7.) It’s cool to homebrew.
8.) Beer mail is the best kind of mail.
9.) “Paws off, dis mine.”
10.) Finally, sharing is caring with your best furriends.
Overall, we’re thankful to all of our followers and contributors for our passion with craft beer and cats. Use the hashtags #beercat or #catsontap to be featured with Rosie and Milly on our Instagram or Twitter feeds. Cheers!
